huthaus - Garden shedding with style. Influenced by Mondrian and the Bauhaus School but with a very practical shepherds hut design used as a potting shed. The huthaus was built for my wife with mainly recycled materials. She loves growing plants, flowers and vegetables and initially was built for her allotment as a potting shed. After moving house we had to move huthaus to our new garden and it needed some repairs after the move. The lockdown has given me the chance to completely strip down and rebuild it as a birthday present for her. Note the birthday message in the video.
90% of huthaus is made from recycled and reused materials. The windows are old crittall windows rescued from a demolished house. eBay bought cast iron wheels. Used angle iron welded together to build the chassis with a reworked trolley pull system which makes huthaus mobile. The walls and floors are second hand floorboards with most of the other fittings found and scrounged from friends and relatives.
